Most of our patients choose HearingPlanet, because they realize that buying hearing aids can be a complicated process. Our program is designed to help you make an informed decision and support you locally with a professional that we endorse. Here is how our program works:
Unlike hearing aid retailers found on the internet that ship hearing aids directly to consumers with no local service, customers who purchase hearing aids from HearingPlanet are fit by a trained and authorized hearing care professional in their LOCAL market. We have over 1,100 clinics in our nationwide network and believe that the best fit and results come from face-to-face interaction with a hearing care professional. After fitting over 20,000 patients, we believe the skill and care of a trained professional is critical to better hearing. Should you have any questions about our policies and procedures, please contact us at 1-800-432-7669.
HearingPlanet contracts with local clinics to see our patients. We carefully screen each clinic to ensure the highest level of service. In addition, each clinic is reimbursed the same amount for any hearing aid selected and fit. This way you can be assured your hearing aid recommendation is based on what is best for you and not based on profit. You have nothing to lose by giving us a call and speaking with one of our highly trained hearing consultants. We are confident it will be well worth the time!
In most cases, we can schedule your appointment at the local clinic within two days. From the time of the order, you can expect to receive your new hearing aids in approximately 2 weeks. Rush orders (4-5 days) can be arranged for an additional charge.
You have a 45-day trial period, which begins on the day you are fit with your hearing aids. If you decide to return your hearing aids, you may return them for a 100% refund.
Others may refund 100% of the hearing aid price but often times you are left paying a fitting fee or other restocking fees. At HearingPlanet, there are no hidden charges whatsoever .
Medicare does not cover the cost of hearing aids. In fact, few insurance plans offer a hearing aid benefit. If you do have hearing aid coverage, we will assist you in obtaining direct reimbursement from your insurance company. If your insurance company will not allow you to file directly, we may offer special discounts to keep your out of pocket costs the same.
Open-fit style hearing aids are miniature behind-the-ear devices that are virtually invisible when worn and possibly the most comfortable hearing aids available. Open-fit hearing aids are worn mostly by people with high frequency hearing loss. A somewhat common problem for people with this type of hearing loss is experiencing a "stopped up" feeling when wearing traditional hearing aids. Open-fit hearing aids virtually eliminate this by placing a very thin piece of tubing in the ear canal leaving it "open" to hear some sounds normally but presenting other sounds that require amplification. Sophisticated digital circuitry allows this to work with essentially no feedback. A thorough hearing test from one of our local affiliated Hearing Professionals will determine if you are a candidate for this style of hearing aid.
